Jodi, you ARE ok. You are right where you are supposed to be right now. 5 years brings good and horrifying awareness. I believe and have observed in myself and others that “we” are extremely sensitive to injustice. This is why alcohol worked. It made everything fuzzy so that we didn’t feel the injustice so very intensely. Living in this world without a cushion is too much at times. BUT, you are ok. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Be gentle with yourself on this long road.

Ellen, thank you so much. What wisdom. It's so true that we use alcohol to "tolerate" the intolerable, and when we remove that, we have to feel our feelings in all their messy, raw glory. 🙏🏻❤️
