This was a healing read for me today. I had tried to watch MSNBC and CNN because I was concerned about the students who were protesting. I saw after a few moments that the corporate media was lying about the protest, Israel and Gaza. I just couldn’t believe that they would misrepresent reality and history and death as they squawked on. In a few moments I took another breath and shut the TV off. I wanted live, moment to moment information but the information was bastardized and as unfactual as FOX news. So thank you for reporting the reality of what these protests, gatherings, healing moments are really about. Amen.

Thank you Diane. Yes it has been incredibly shocking to see the misinformation, especially the very dangerous conflation of anti-zionism with anti-semitism, which of course are totally separate. Many many people protesting are Jewish! Including the seder I mentioned at Penn- there were hundreds of anti-zionist Jews celebrating Passover in the encampment. But Israel has been pouring money into influencing media and policy (particularly through AIPAC) and the corporate media will protect their sponsors. It's a perfect storm. I'm so thankful people are seeing through it. And I feel so heartbroken for all the young people being betrayed by their universities, brutalized by police, all for saying that genocide is wrong. I would suggest following Democracy Now and Al Jazeera for more unbiased news! But the encampment is beautiful. I feel such a sense of safety and belonging when I am there.
